Will residents receive compensation as part of the relocation?
Yes. A set, one-time stipend will be provided to each household for incidentals related to the relocation. The amount of the stipend has not been determined but we will update as soon as more is known.
Will we receive help in moving our items?
Yes. Several weeks prior to the start of work, residents will be provided boxes to place contents of their cabinets, vanities, pantries, closets, etc. Assistance with packing will be provided to those with a demonstrated need. A moving company will be engaged to prepare the apartment for construction. Resident belongings will be moved either inside the apartment or to mobile PODS by the professional movers.
Where will we be staying during construction?
Residents will be staying at the “Extended Stay America Premier Suites,” 1000 Warren Ave., East Providence, RI 02914.
The accommodations include the following:
- Fully equipped kitchens
- Free grab-and-go breakfast
- Free wi-fi in every room
- Onsite laundry facilities
- TVs with premium cable channels
- New fresh bedding, pillows and upgraded lighting
- Pet-friendly rooms available
Please be sure to bring all of your belongings with you prior to construction, as re-entry to the apartment will not be allowed while work is being performed.
