Jennifer Hawkins, President and CEO of ONE Neighborhood Builders, joined a panel of experts on Friday, March 1 to discuss the Rhode Island housing crisis as part of a comprehensive investigative series by Target 12.
The series delved deep into the root causes that make it increasingly difficult for individuals and families to secure a place to call home, whether they’re looking to buy or rent. The investigative reports shed light on a range of issues from the financial hurdles to the systemic barriers that exacerbate the crisis.
Other panelists included Chris Whitten, President-elect of the Rhode Island Association of Realtors, Bob Baldwin, President of R.B. Homes Inc., and Cortney Nicolato, President and CEO of the United Way of Rhode Island. Hawkins and Nicolato are also members of the Housing Affordability Commission, further underscoring their dedication to finding actionable solutions.
