East Providence Mayor Bob DaSilva speaks with Jennifer Hawkins, ONE Neighborhood Builder’s President and CEO during his cable access program called “The Pulse of East Providence.”

Jennifer Hawkins, President and CEO of ONE Neighborhood Builders spoke recently about affordable housing initiatives in East Providence with Mayor Bob DaSilva on the local cable show “The Pulse of East Providence.” Hawkins shared how ONE|NB and East Providence have worked together, helping the city become the 7th municipality in the state to hit the 10% affordable housing goal.

ONE Neighborhood Builders has been busy in East Providence, DaSilva noted. Developments in East Providence include Sutton Place, a unique naturally occurring affordable housing (NOAH) project offering low-rent living options for residents, and Riverside Square project, which will add 16 new affordable apartments to the market.

Hawkins spoke of the next development in East Providence: Converting property at 350 Taunton Ave. into 160 new affordable apartments, called Center City Apartments. The project, Hawkins said, is a collaboration that will provide housing for foster care youth, families, and veterans.
