Kyle McKendall
Vice President of Resource Development and Communications
Kyle McKendall is an accomplished nonprofit executive who developed a keen understanding of fundraising and communications through hands-on, grassroots experiences fueled by passion for improving the quality of life for all. He is a dynamic and results-oriented leader, natural storyteller, adept fundraiser, and a successful marketing and communications strategist. Intrigued by the collective human experience and cross-sections of industries, organizations, and relationships, he finds much joy working at the intersection of philanthropy and communications within mission-driven organizations.
Kyle’s work has been focused on raising funds to tackle health disparities and supporting historically underserved and marginalized communities through community-based communication approaches. Most recently, he served as the Chief Philanthropy Officer at the Rhode Island Public Health Institute where his communications and fundraising strategies strengthened the organizations programs, including operating the state’s only LGBTQ+ dedicated health clinic. Previously, he was the Vice President of Advancement for the Hemophilia Federation of America, a national patient advocacy nonprofit.
Kyle received degrees in marketing and advertising communications from Johnson & Wales University. He served as the board chair of Options Magazine, a nonprofit providing resources to the LGBTQ+ community and was a member of The Rhode Island Urban Debate League Board of Directors. He is a native Rhode Islander and resides in Cranston.
