Eloi is our Community Organizer for Central Providence Opportunities: A Health Equity Zone. He joins ONE|NB with the commitment and excitement to listen, collaborate, and connect our local ecosystem of residents, organizations and policy advocates in ways that can build real solidarity and power within the community.
He was born and raised in Guatemala, where he previously worked at the Mesoamerican Permaculture Institute as an education program director, local advocacy research liaison, and interpreter for students and volunteers interested in preserving indigenous regenerative practices. Eloi earned an academic scholarship to study in France, where he obtained a master’s degree in Hispanic Studies at the Sorbonne Nouvelle University of Paris. He is fluent in Spanish, French and Portuguese.
In his spare time, Eloi can be found painting, writing, biking with his wife, and enjoying the cultural, artistic, and food scenes that the various neighborhoods and communities of Providence have to offer.
