One Neighborhood Builder’s Residencias en Riverside Square has been awarded a Smart Growth Award by Grow Smart RI, an organization committed to leading and engaging Rhode Islanders in advancing neighborhood revitalization, environmental stewardship, and economic opportunity. Each year, the Smart Growth Awards recognize developments, individuals, and policies that best address community revitalization, access to affordable housing, improved public health, greener building practices, and advancement of social, racial, and economic justice.
We are honored that Residences at Riverside Square has been selected as one of this year’s awardees. This 16-unit affordable housing development located in East Providence epitomizes the ideals of smart growth. Residence at Riverside Square reserves three units for youth aging out of foster care in partnership with Foster Forward, a leading nonprofit impowering lives impacted by foster care.
Residences at Riverside Square is thoughtfully integrated into the surrounding community. Located on a RIPTA bus line and adjacent to the East Bay Bike Path, this development utilizes established infrastructure to ensure residents have accessible transportation options. Its design complements the surrounding area, helping to transform a once-vacant, blighted lot into an asset for the community.
