Installation began today (Feb. 28, 2022) on an 8-unit affordable apartment development on Bowdoin Street. Installation of all 14 pieces of the modular development, the first such project for ONE Neighborhood Builders, is expected to take a week.

The multi-family development, in Providence’s Olneyville neighborhood, will transform Bowdoin Street. The property had been vacant for several years and had three structures destroyed by fire in 2017.

The development will include two 1-bedroom apartments and six 2-bedroom apartments, with one of the 1-bedroom units being accessible. The site also includes off-street parking.

Units in the development are for renters with an income between 50-80% of the area’s median income.

One of the modular units is moved into place at Bowdoin Street on Monday, Feb. 28, 2022.
