Xander Marro

Director

Xander Marro is co-director of Dirt Palace Public Projects, a feminist artist-run space founded in 2000 in Olneyville Square and with an auxiliary location on Broadway in the Wedding Cake House. She became chair of the board of directors for ONE Neighborhood Builders in May of 2021.

Xander cut her teeth in community arts management while serving as the Managing Director of Providence’s legendary AS220, which began in 1985 and remains a force within the Rhode Island arts world with a vision for a just world where all people can realize their full creative potential.

She teaches a class on poster design for the Rhode Island School of Design and serves as Chair of Providence’s Art and City Life Commission. Xander has lived in Olneyville since 1997 and has served on the board for ONE Neighborhood Builders since 2004.
