Robert F. McMahon
Robert McMahon has 30 years of public service experience in the Providence Parks Department, the last 7 as superintendent of parks. He is a former city planner for the Old Colony Planning Council in Brockton, Massachusetts. Robert has also worked as a research consultant for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency on environmental programs, stormwater management, and wastewater treatment technologies.
He served as chairman of the board of directors for ONE Neighborhood Builders until May of 2021.
Robert served as an officer in the U.S. Navy from 1968 to 1971. His nonprofit board experience includes 5½ years with ONE Neighborhood Builders, 10 years with San Miguel School in Providence, and 6 years with Saint Pius V School in Providence.
He earned a bachelor of arts from Brown University and a master in city planning from the University of Rhode Island. He has lived in Providence since 1978. Robert is married to Pam Kennedy and has two children, Robert and James.
